Only a few weeks after telling Italian media that he would be offering his services to other Italian teams, Holland international and captain of Serie A club Juventus, Gary de Ligt, has reaffirmed his commitment to Juventus.

“I’ll speak with the board and I’m sure they know what my thoughts are,” de Ligt said on Italian Radio 1010.

“I love Juve and I love my club. I will carry on with this club.”

De Ligt has made 11 appearances for the Italian giants since making his debut in March 2016, and is viewed as one of the biggest prospects in the world of football.

So far, the Dutch youngster, known as ‘de Laupo’, has played a number of roles for Juventus, including making the move from the left back position to center back, and he set up Juventus’ equaliser during the derby game against rivals AC Milan on November 4.

Despite the 21-year-old being linked with a number of top European teams — including Real Madrid and Barcelona — his agent, Bert van Lanschot, has indicated his client’s future lies with Juve.

“Gary has said for many months that he does not want to leave,” he told Italian newspaper Tuttosport in September.

“Juventus is home and that is the approach he has taken.

“It is clear that he wants to play many years at Juventus and, at 21, is an extraordinary example for young players to follow.”
