A woman who lived in Largo was found dead in her home Thursday, possibly from a gunshot wound, and police are investigating the case as a homicide.
Investigators were called to the home in the 800 block of Fentiman Road about 11:30 a.m. after a relative became concerned when she couldn’t reach the woman, identified by police as 60-year-old Susan L. Harper.
Police said a 21-year-old resident of the home told them that he had been following his sister, who died in the home earlier this week, because he believed the woman might have been murdered. The man said Harper was on her way back from an outing when he heard gunshots, police said.
Police said the man told them that his sister gave him the address after she noticed that she was running low on medication.
Harper’s body was taken to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy, and police said the incident is not being treated as a domestic violence case. A total of five firearms were found inside the home.
