5 killed at Wisconsin church, including 40-year-old suspect

Five people were killed at a Waukesha church parade, police said, in what appeared to be a domestic shooting. The suspect has been identified as 40-year-old Darrell Williams Jr. FOX6 News in Milwaukee has learned that Williams lived in St. Francis, Wisconsin, just north of the city of Sturtevant, and on Monday checked into the same motel as his girlfriend.

Waukesha police said in a statement that they are responding to a report of a person firing a weapon during the Kleen Village Parade. Police said earlier there was an altercation, which officers responded to.

Investigators responded immediately to the scene and found five people dead. Police said no hostages were taken, and were able to enter the church and evacuate the area.

Investigators are still trying to determine what led to the shootings. No witnesses have been interviewed, but police are interviewing the family and friends of the suspect.

Neighbors told WISN 12 News the suspect’s father, mother and stepfather are all in the hospital. The father suffered gunshots to the arm and the leg. The mother suffered a stomach wound and the stepfather is still hospitalized with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
